Another fascination for beauty in China: when we asked for a tour guide at Shilin Stone Forest the guy at the desk pointed to a bunch of girls and asked us to “pick the cutest one”. I was thoroughly amused since I had already gone through this at almost every single massage place, but my friend was mortified for the girls. I gave her the honors and she ended up picking an older looking girl sitting by herself in the corner.
