Chinese massage parlors (literal translation = foot washing places) are the shit. An hour long full body massage usually starts at less than 8$ USD and you can get whatever kind of “massage” you want starting at around 40$ USD if you go to the right places. Since me and L only started hitting up the parlors at 2am and we didn’t have Chinese IDs, every place just assumed from the get go that we were foreigners wanting the expensive stuff. This was taken in one of the nicer parlors where they gave you a change of clothes and a locker room to store your stuff. You usually wait in a bedroom and they parade girls in for you to choose (even if you’re just getting a normal no frills massage). You could reject the girls for any reason whatsoever, too old, too plain, too fat, funny looking knees, too coked out (all answers me and L gave). Which explains why we ended up going to four different places the first night. Fun times!
