Limited edition Pentax K2000 to come in black and white
While white photo gear in some applications actually make sense—the most prevalent being Canon’s L glass being predominantly white to reduce the absorption of solar heat, the new limited edition white Pentax K2000 is just a smart marketing gimmick. As an entry level dslr, regular consumers aren’t going to care that a white body is going to get dirty that much faster, stand out more for theft, or that in a studio setting it’s going to cause strobe reflection—all they’re going to want to know is if it also comes in pink! That being said, I think it looks sweet. I love gadgets in white.
