When we arrived at this nondescript back alley, I had my doubts of the Japanese restaurant’s reputation. Earlier that night I had heard it was one of the finest in Kaohsiung and I was not disappointed. Also, over the course of the meal, the former Taiwanese president’s son, the largest importer of toro in Taiwan/HK, and the owner of Crown coffee all stopped by our room to say hello. I’m not really sure who I was eating with that commanded such status.
