Silent Noise. Goa has been a well known rave town since the 70s when Goa Gill started getting those hippies revved up on X and dancing till dawn. Well, in the mid 2000s the locals and police said “Enough is e-goddamn-nough!” and break up raves whenever they spring up. Well, two people that shall remain unnamed (because they moved to Goa to get rid of publicity, not gain it) developed a system of using wireless headphones that you rent at the beginning of the night in order to keep the noise down for the locals. So, the DJs play till about 10 at night and then the headphones come on and you can dance till dawn (literally, about how long these things last). The cool part about the whole thing is that there are 3 djs spinning and you can rotate between them all. All the headsets have a little fiber-optic light that changes colors depending on the station so you can see all the other people listening to the same music. The other thing that’s cool, is if you found someone you wanted to throw your mack down on, you can actually talk to them by taking off the headphones. It’s pretty awesome!
This is ingenious and would definitely save me from going prematurely deaf. Any parties like this in Chicago?
